All Camp Watchaug staff are required to complete a criminal background check, appropriate employment application and forms, three refernce checks, and 30 hours of staff training prior to the start of summer.

Senior Counselor |

18 years old & older
Responsible for the care and welfare of up to 10 campers during daily programs. Will lead specific games, activities and programs and assist with other programs when lead by an activity instructor. Most importantly, a counselor must be a positive role model for the growing and changing experience that we provide for our campers.

Junior Counselor |
|
16-17 years old
Assist in the general care and welfare of up to 10 campers during daily programs. Will lead specific games, activities and programs and assist with other programs when lead by an activity instructor. Very limited Junior Counselor positions will be available.

Waterfront Lifeguard |
|
Primary responsibility for safety and welfare of all swimmers. Instruct various levels of swimming for begginner to advanced swimming abilities. Will rotate between swimming instruction, recreational programs, and Lifeguarding. Above all, our lifeguards understand their prime duty; ensuring the safety of EVERY swimmer at all times.
*Must be a currently certified Lifeguard

Land Program Instructor |
|
Responsible for instructing various programs including archery, sports & games, field games, low-course iniatives, challenge course and climbing wall. An adventurous spirit and the desire to TEACH skills not just lead activities.
*Must be CPR/First Aid Certified and able to complete USA Archery and Adventure Programming Training (3 days)

Boating Instructor |
|
Instruct various levels of boating and sailing from basic/introductory to more advanced boat handling skills. Should have at least 2 years experience sailing or instructing sailing. Instructors will be placed based upon experience. Prefer experience with towing sports: tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding, etc.
*Must be a currently certified Lifeguard

Specialty Camps Instructor |

Responsible for the care and welfare of up to 10 campers during the daily programs. Will lead very specific specialty camp programs in both/either watersports or land program activities. Most importantly, a counselor must be a positive role model for the growing and changing experience that we provide for our campers.
*Must be CPR/First Aid Certified and able to complete USA Archery and Adventure Programming Training (3 days). Prefer certified lifeguards. |
