Camping With A Purpose
Our exceptional programs encompass all of what Camp Watchaug has to offer through a packed day of unique, instructional activities, special events, and lasting friendships. Our Tradition-Rich curriculum is developed for each specific age group so that your camper has their own, distinctive experience. Campers will develop new skills on the waterfront in daily swim lessons, sailing, and other boating activities and explore new games and activities in our fields and acres of wilderness. |

Hummingbirds - 4 and 5 Year Olds
Offers preschoolers a welcoming camp environment for their first time away from home. Led by an experieced counselor with an educational background in early childhood development. The Hummingbirds experience their first steps at camp in daily swim lessons, art projects, hikes and more. Because we are focused on each of our campers, our counselors will send home reports on your camper's progress and reminders for the week. |

Chickadees - Entering 1st Grade
Still in their beginning years of camp, our energized counselors lead campers through many different skills and new activities. Program periods include archery, banana boat, daily swim lessons, and sports skills. Daily reports will come home from your camper's counselor discussing how they day went and new friends they have met.

Robins - Entering 2nd & 3rd Grades
Campers will experience their first time on our climbing tower and ropes course, explore the pond and their outdoor environment, swim lessons, boating and much more. Our counselors work with small groups, ensuring that each camper has their own successful experience at camp every day.

Pioneers - Entering 4th & 5th Grades
Advancing out of our younger camper groups, the Pioneers will learn new skills and different adventures; challenge Course and High Ropes programs, sailing lessons, kayaking, athletics, and fine arts. Their counselors will work to make the group a cohesive team for the two-week session.

Rangers - Entering 6th & 7th Grades
Like the Pioneers, the Rangers have a whole new world of exploration with our High Ropes 300' Zip Line, water sports, team building initiatives and beyond. The Rangers will also have the opportunity to select their own activities in the afternoon so they may choose their own unique camp experience.

Explorers - Entering 8th & 9th Grades
Our oldest campers will have every activity choice and program area at their disposal; banana boat, Challenge Course, athletics fine arts and it keeps going! They will learn how to waterski and wakeboard work together and function as strong unit and explore their own problem solving abilities.

Extended Day Program
Designed to meet the needs of the working parent with a child at camp. Before and after the regular camp day, extended day is available at the Westerly-Pawcatuck or Arcadia YMCA's. Campers will be transported by bus to and from Camp Watchaug and will participate in well-supervised, recreational activities. You may enroll for two-weeks in AM, PM or both. Extended Day is also availabe for both Preview week and all Specialty Camps.
