| Our specialty programs are a one-week program. Campers will stay with their same instructor throughout the day; the first 4 out of their six periods will be in the specialty program, the will then get a taste of Traditional camp for the last 2 periods (swim lessons, archery, banana boat, etc.) |

ADVENTURE CAMP For our thrill-seeking campers. This camp focuses on the outdoors: archery, hiking our woods, scaling the climbing tower, challenging the traverse wall, and other progressive group dynamics activities. Certified and trained staff members will lead a new program each day. Find yourself flying down a 300 foot zip line or challenging your friends on the Wild-Woozy and Mohawk Walk this summer! |

WATER SPORTS This skill-packed, energized program is designed for both the novice and advanced aqua-minded campers. Because of the small, specialized program we are able to move at an advanced rate and develop new and enhanced abilities in sailing, kayaking, water-skiing and other aquatic sports. The afternoons will be left open for activity choices. |

SAILING SCHOOL Led by a certified coach, campers will learn the basics of seamanship and quickly progress to fundamental sailing skills on the Vanguard Sunfish and Optimists. The program is designed to quickly bring sailors from entry-level sailing to experienced racers by the end of the session. |

Y-ALL STARS A non-competitive instructional program designed to teach fundamentals, rules, teamwork, sportsmanship and motor skills. Thsi class is a great opportunity for boys and girls to participate in a variety of their favorite sports while enhancing tehri self-esteem. Each class will begin with stretching and warm up, followed by a different sport or game. |

ROCKETEERS Blast off to new heights and greater imaginations with the other Rocketeers in this exciting new program. Campers will learn range safety and basic principles of flight while unleashing their creative talents on their very squadron of rockets. Led by two instructors, the Rocketeers will first built basic models then progress to their very own designs, each a special souvenir to take home after their maiden voyages. |

SILLY SCIENCE It's Wacky!... and a little bit educational as well. We will deliver unique, hands-on science experiences for childrean that are as entertaining as they are a genuine learning adventure. |

FORT BUILDING The latest craze in summer camping starts it’s third successful summer at Camp Watchaug. Campers will spend the day designing and building forts throughout our wilderness, led by a trained carpenter. We have a virtual fort village at our Wohelo site, and this year will be even bigger and better. Platforms, drawbridges and towers are just a few of the features that our campers build themselves during this imaginative program. |

CERAMICS CREATIONS Utilizing a unique outdoor firing technique, camper will see their 3D art peices go from pottery mold to one-of-a-kind ceramic creations. Instruction and supervision in painting, glazing and firing are given. One-week program and includes all necessary equipment, clay and materials. |

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM (CIT) For High School students looking to gain leadership experience both working with children and in the outdoors. This program runs for 6-8 weeks during the summer and involves weekly leadershop meetings, mentoring and engaging teaching experiences The CIT Application is the first step in getting started |

Extended Day Program Designed to meet the needs of the working parent with a child at camp. Before and after the regular camp day, extended day is available at the Westerly-Pawcatuck or Arcadia YMCA's. Campers will be transported by bus to and from Camp Watchaug and will participate in well-supervised, recreational activities. You may enroll for two-weeks in AM, PM or both. Extended Day is also availabe for both Preview week and all Specialty Camps. |
